John and Doreen Titman have lived in Lower Farm since the early 80's.  Doreen, a farmer's daughter, has always lived in Somerset.  In earlier careers John was an agricultural auctioneer and Doreen enjoyed working in a busy fine-art saleroom in Taunton.

  They started the B and B in the Farmhouse in 1997 and then expanded it by converting the Barn and the Granary to provide 12 more modernised,  ensuite rooms.

John keeps cattle,  and the hens you see running around the farm provide fresh eggs every day. 

Their two Labradors, Winston and Wellington are very much part of the family.

 Fresh vegetables come from the Gardens and Doreen  makes her own jams from the soft and orchard fruits which they grow.

Thornfalcon is a tiny village off the A 358 (Taunton to Ilminster) just 4 miles from the county town of Taunton.  It is an ideal stop for business and touring the county.  Somerset has so much to offer with its varied landscape and rich history.

A typical Somerset scene, especially here in the village are orchards full of mistletoe. Often birds of prey, such as buzzards and sparrow hawks can be seen flying overhead

All prices include full English Breakfasts cooked to order on the Aga.

 

or continental breakfast if you prefer.  These are served in the farmhouse kitchen/ breakfast room..

We do not serve evening  meals but there are many excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach by car.

  Nearby pubs serve excellent meals: the Farmers' Inn in West Hatch, the Bird in Hand in North Curry, the Nag's Head in Thornfalcon  and the Half Moon in Stoke St Mary.

Good restaurants can also be found in the nearby hotels such as Farthings in Hatch Beauchamp and Mount Somerset in Henlade.

We can take adults and children over the age of 5, but cannot accept dogs.
